The first time I made pork fillet with apple sauce, I didn’t even plan it. That day, I opened the fridge and saw a good cut of pork and a few apples that were too soft. So, I put them together, and what came out of that pan was pure magic.

Every time I make this sauce, it feels like home, and I am astonished how a simple dish can be so comforting and tasty. And the best part is it’s super fast, and elegant enough for the guests.

In this article, I’ll share with you an amazing pork filler with apple sauce recipe that uses simple ingredients and straightforward steps.

What is Pork Fillet Apple Sauce?

Pork fillet or pork tenderloin is a lean, boneless cut that cooks quickly and stays incredibly tender if you don’t overdo it. And the apple sauce? It’s not from the jar. It’s real, homemade magic with a touch of butter and a few pantry spices. And together make a timeless combo, which is rustic, balanced, and unexpectedly elegant.

How To Make Pork Fillet Apple Sauce At Home?

Well,  you don’t need something fancy to make this recipe. Just a good cut of meat, some ripe apples, and about an hour from start to finish.

Ingredients You’ll Need

Pork Fillet

First, you’ll need 1 to 1.5 pounds of pork tenderloin, which should be trimmed and patted dry.

Olive Oil

Then, take 1 teaspoon of olive oil to sear the meat and lock the flavour in.

Salt and pepper

Take salt and black pepper as per taste. Use it to season the pork before cooking.

Thyme or Rosemary

Thyme and rosemary are optional ingredients in this recipe. But it improves the fragrance and taste of this recipe. Add 1 teaspoon (dried).

Apples

Any kind of apples that are soft and ripe go well with this recipe. You can use Braeburn, Granny Smith, or anything like that. Take 3 medium-sized apples, peeled and diced.

Butter

1 tablespoon of butter helps to sauté the apples and create that velvety sauce base.

Brown Sugar

Brown sugar gives this sauce that sweetness, which the apples can’t.  But if you want that simple sweetness without overdoing it, you can skip it. Take 1 tablespoon of brown sugar.

Water or White Wine

We don’t want our sauce to be fried, so here it comes: water or white wine. Use a splash of any of this, whatever you prefer. For new chefs, it’s 2-3 tablespoons.

Salt

As we have already seasoned the pork with salt, stay aware here. Use just a pinch that makes the whole sauce feel warmer.

Fresh Basil(Optional)

Well, if you want something fresh and aromatic, use ½ cup of torn or chopped basil. Not available? Doesn’t matter. Skip it!

Make It With Simple Steps

Step 1 – Sear The Pork

At first, preheat your oven to  400°F (200°C). On the other side, season the pork with salt, pepper, and herbs. Heat the olive oil in a skillet; the temperature should be medium. Sear the pork on both sides for 6-8 minutes until it’s golden brown.

Step 2 – Roast The Pork

Now, take an oven-safe tray or pan. Transfer the seared pork there. Roast it in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the internal temp hits 145°f (63°C). Once it’s done, remove it and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Step 3 -Start the Apple Sauce

Now it’s time to cook the sauce. Melt some butter in a pan. Keep the heat on medium and add the diced apples, brown sugar, and a splash of water or wine. Stir well.

Step 4 – Simmer It Down

Let the apple simmer for 10-15 minutes. Stir often. Make the sauce soft and slightly thick, not mushy.

Step 5 – Serve It

Now the final part. Taste and season again if anything is required. Now, slice the pork. Then take your favourite plate, put that pork there, and pour the apple sauce on top of that. Sprinkle fresh basil or herbs if you’re using them.

Serving Suggestion

  • Roasted Root Vegetables

Want a colorful, healthy, whole meal? Add some roasted root vegetables like carrots, parsnips, or sweet potatoes.

  • Mashed Potatoes

Want to balance the plate? Go for mashed potatoes alongside this tender pork. This creamy buttery goodness goes amazingly with both pork and the sauce.

  • Crusty Bread

Don’t skip this part. You’ll want something to mop up that glossy apple sauce, and a hunk of warm sourdough or baguette is perfect for the job.

Pro Tips

  1. Don’t overcook the pork. Use a meat thermometer. 145°F is perfect.
  2.  Always use ripe apples.
  3. Add aromatics to deepen the flavour.
