Spicy Boom Boom Sauce Recipe Ingredients:

This Boom Boom dipping sauce is a spicy mayonnaise-based sauce perfect for chicken tenders, fried shrimp, kabobs, chicken wings, crispy fries, or drizzled over a salad. You’ll love how versatile the sauce is! It is my personal favorite and I can’t stop using it in everything.

Guests go crazy about it and always ask for more. The ingredients needed are easily found at home. You can adjust the spice level according to your preference. This boom-boom sauce is made up of only a few simple ingredients. Here is a small description of the listed ingredients:

Mayonnaise:

Mayonnaise creates the base for our copycat Boom Boom sauce. It is a creamy, thick, and white sauce made with egg yolk, oil, and vinegar. It is commonly used in sandwiches and as a base for other sauces.

2 cups mayo is needed in our recipe. You can use both store-bought or homemade mayonnaise.

Ketchup:

Tomato ketchup is found in almost everyone’s refrigerator. Tomato ketchup and mayonnaise is itself a good combination for sandwiches and wraps. 2 tablespoons of tomato ketchup makes our quick Boom Boom sauce tangy and sweet.

Sweet Chili Sauce:

Sweet chili sauce is sweet and tangy used as a condiment in different recipes. It adds a kick of spice along with a sweet and snappy flavor. Add 2 tablespoons of sweet chili sauce in the sweet and spicy sauce recipe.

Sriracha Sauce:

Sriracha sauce is made with red chili pepper and garlic. It adds a unique flaming kick to the sauce. Sweet chili sauce and sriracha together creates a drooling combination. Use 1 tablespoon in the sriracha mayo sauce recipe.

Garlic Powder:

Garlic is a widely used herb for its pungent flavor and strong aroma. It is commonly used as a seasoning or condiment and goes well with many sauces. Use ½ teaspoon of garlic powder to give our sriracha mayo sauce a garlicky undertone.

Onion Powder:

Onion powder is used in sauces, seasonings, and rubs to add spiciness and intense flavor. It has its unique flavor and aroma. I used 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder in our sweet chili sauce blend.

Salt:

Use a pinch of salt to balance all the flavors in the sauce.

Black Pepper:

Black pepper has a complex flavor at the same time it adds heat and spiciness to the recipe. 1 ⁄ 2 teaspoon of finely ground black pepper is used in the recipe.

Smoked Paprika:

Smoked paprika is basically dried, smoked and ground red pepper. It is used in sauces to make the sauce all red, hot, and spicy. ½ teaspoon of smoked paprika would be enough for the garlic Aioli sauce recipe.

Honey:

Using honey is a must to balance all the spiciness and acidity in the sauce. I used 1 tablespoon of honey in the recipe.

Recipe Tips & Notes:

  • Want a vegan version of the sweet and spicy sauce? Use vegan mayonnaise in place of regular mayonnaise. If you want to make this lower in calories, feel free to use low-fat mayonnaise.
  • To make your Boom Boom sauce more flavorful add a teaspoon of Dijon mustard.
  • Add more honey or maple syrup for a sweeter fry sauce. Or skip honey for a sugar-free version.
  • The best part of this recipe is you are in control of the heat level. Use 1 teaspoon of hot sauce or ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper for additional spice.
  • Also, you can change the spiciness by altering the proportions of sweet chili sauce and sriracha sauce.
