Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup Water
  • 1 Cup Fermented Chilies
  • 1/2 Cup Lemon juice
  • 1/4 Cup Olive oil
  • 5-6 Cloves Garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon Salt
  • 2 Teaspoons Dried Chili Flakes
  • ¼ Teaspoons Xanthan Gum

Instructions

  • To make the sauce, gather all the ingredients.
  • Prepare the fermented chilies first.
  • Chop coarsely after removing the stems and seeds.
  • Also mince the garlic.
  • Combine the lemon juice, olive oil, and water in a measuring cup.
  • In a blender or food processor, combine the fermented chilies, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, and dried chili flakes.
  • Incorporate the mixture thoroughly and blend until smooth.
  • Your Peri Peri Sauce can be adjusted according to how hot you like it.
  • Start with a small amount, then combine and taste until desired heat is reached.
  • It thickens and gives the sauce a better consistency when thickened with xanthan gum.
  • Blend the mixture slowly while adding the xanthan gum until you get the desired consistency.
  • Avoid adding too much, as this will make the sauce too thick.
  • Don't oversalt, but add salt to taste.
  • Ensure that all the ingredients are well blended in the sauce by blending it again.
  • Refrigerate the Peri Peri Sauce for up to 2 weeks in an airtight jar.
  • With grilled meats and vegetables or as a dip for snacks, Trader Joe's Peri Peri Sauce is delicious.
