Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • ¼ Cup Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Mirin
  • 2 Teaspoons Ginger Grated
  • 1 Clove Garlic
  • 1/4 Teaspoons Red Chili Flakes
  • 2 Teaspoons Cornstarch

Instructions

  • In a small pot, combine the sugar, red pepper flakes, mirin, water,ginger, garlic, and soy sauce
  • Reduce the heat to medium and let the food cook
  • In a small bowl, place 2 teaspoons of the teriyaki sauce
  • Stir in the cornstarch after that
  • Return the sauce to a boil and cook, stirring, for an additional 5 to 8 minutes
  • or until slightly thickened. It calls for one cup of sauce
  • Once the mixture has cooled to normal temperature, remove it from the heat source
  •  Alternatively, you may cover and store it in the refrigerator for up to a week
