Ingredients
  

  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • 2 Tbsp All-purpose Flour
  • 2 Cups Milk
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1/4 Tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 Tsp Chili Flakes
  • A Pinch Nutmeg Optional

Method
 

  1. Collect and measure all the required ingredients according to the ingredient list.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Add flour and whisk continuously for 1–2 minutes to form a roux.
  4. Gradually pour milk into the roux while whisking to prevent lumps.
  5. Heat the milk for around 5 to 7 minutes.
  6. Continue stirring while heating until the sauce thickens and becomes smooth.
  7. Season with salt, black pepper, chili flakes, and a pinch of nutmeg (optional).
  8. Again, mix nicely and simmer for 1 to 2 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat and use immediately, or store in airtight container in the refrigerator for later.
