Ingredients
  

  • 28 Oz San Marzano Whole Peeled Tomatoes
  • 3 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 5 Cloves Garlic
  • 1/2 Small Yellow Onion Diced
  • 1/4 Cup Fresh Basil Torn
  • 1 Tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1/4 Tsp Red Pepper Flakes Optional
  • 1 Tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper

Method
 

  1. In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium-low heat. Add garlic and onion. Sauté until fragrant, about 3–5 minutes.
  2. Crush tomatoes by hand or pulse in a blender. Add to the pan.
  3. Stir in oregano, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper.
  4. Simmer uncovered for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Stir in fresh basil at the end and let sit for 2 minutes.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve warm or let cool and refrigerate.
