Method
- Mix cut strawberries, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and 1/3 cup sugar in a medium pot
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring regularly
- Reduce heat to a simmer and whisk occasionally until sauce thickens, 20–23 minutes
- After turning off the heat, let it cool to room temperature
- Remember that the sauce thickens slightly as it cools and more in the fridge
