Ingredients
  

  • 3 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • 2 Tbsp Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp Mirin or Honey
  • 2-3 Tbsp Dashi Stock or Water
  • 1/2 Tsp Grated Garlic Optional
  • 1 Tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Tsp Sugar Optional

Method
 

  1. Toast the sesame seeds lightly for 2 to 3 minutes or until they release a fragrance. Then grind the toasted sesame seeds in a food processor. (Skip it if you are using tahini.)
  2. Now, take a bowl, mix the paste with soy sauce, vinegar, mirin or honey, and dashi or water.
  3. Lastly, add the grated garlic and sesame oil.
  4. Taste and see if any adjustment is needed for sweetness and thickness.
  5. Store the sauce in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
