Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 Finely Chopped Onion Small Yellow Onion
  • 2 Cloves Minced Garlic
  • 1.5 Lbs Fresh Roma Tomatoes
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Sprig Fresh Basil Leaves
  • 1 Pinch of Sugar Optional

Instructions

  • At first, blanch the tomatoes in boiling water for 30 – 60 seconds and immerge them into cold water immediately to soften them. Then remove the peel and crush the tomatoes to make a paste.
  • Secondly, saute the chopped onion and garlic nicely.
  • Thirdly, add the tomato paste and season with salt and sugar. Don’t forget to stir properly.
  • Fourthly, simmer the sauce to thicken it into desire consistency.
  • After simmering, add some fresh basil leaves and stir for a few minutes.
  • If you want a smooth mixture, you can blend the sauce before serving.
  • Finally, the pomodoro sauce is ready to enjoy with your favorite pasta.
