Ingredients

  • 6 Oz Tomato Paste
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Honey or Maple Syrup
  • 1 Tbsp Molasses Optional
  • 1 Tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/4 Tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Cup Water

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, combine tomato paste, brown sugar, honey (maple syrup), water and molasses.
  • Stir in smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper and salt.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring often. Once it starts to bubble reduce to low heat.
  • Simmer for 10-12 minutes until thickened. Adjust with water if needed.
  • Taste and tweak seasoning if desired.
  • Let cool, then store in an airtight container in the fridge.
