Ingredients

  • 1 Teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Cayenne peppe
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Ground coriande
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 2 Teaspoons Brown sugar
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric powder

Instructions

  • Take a glass jar and measuring spoons
  • Measure and put all the ingredients in the glass jar
  • Close the lid of the jar and shake very well
  • When all the ingredients get combined nicely together, your Longhorn steak rub is ready to use

Notes

  • The longer the rub sits on the steak, the more flavor comes out. You must keep it for a minimum of 3 hours in the refrigerator before cooking. 
 
  • Make this seasoning and store it in an airtight container. This will remain fresh for up to 6 months.
 
  • You can rub on 2-4 steaks of regular size depending  with this dry rub steak recipe. The good news is you can adjust the recipe to fit however many steaks you want.
 
  • You can customize the steak rub according to your taste. Add more cayenne pepper for extra heat. While additional garlic powder gives a more robust flavor.
  • Some other herbs such as dill seeds, bay leaf, oregano, and thyme can be used in the rub.
 
  • Use salt carefully. Other sauces used on the steak along with our rub may also have added salt.
 
  • Wanna do a little experiment with this steak rub? This versatile dry rub can also be used in other recipes like soups, eggs, burgers, and more. 
 
  • It is suggested to shake the container very well before every use. It takes care of any lumps in the spice mix.
