Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Smooth Peanut Butter Unsweetened
  • 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce Light
  • 1 Tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp  Hoisin Sauce
  • Tbsp Brown Sugar or Palm Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Shaoxing Wine
  • 1 Tsp Chili Oil
  • 1 Chopped Onion Small size
  • 2 Cloves Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 Tsp Ground White Pepper
  • 1/2 Tsp Chinese Five-spice Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1 Tsp Toasted Sesame Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Cooking Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Coconut Milk Optional
  • 3 Tbsp Sesame Paste or Tahini Optional

Instructions

  • First, collect and measure all the required ingredients according to the list.
  • Secondly, prepare the base by sautéing chopped onion and minced garlic over medium heat.
  • Thirdly, add peanut butter, sesame paste, soy sauce (both light and dark), oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, wine, white pepper, chili oil, five-spice powder, and coconut milk into the base and stir nicely.
  • Then, add water to adjust the consistency and simmer the sauce for about 10 minutes.
  • After simmering, taste the sauce and adjust according to your taste.
  • Finally, the sauce is ready to serve.
