Ingredients

  • 1 Jar Pickled Herring Fillets
  • 3/4 Cup Sour Cream
  • 1 Small Red Onion Finely Diced
  • 2 Tbsp Fresh Dill Chopped
  • 1 Tbsp White Vinegar
  • 1 Tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 Tsp Lemon Zest Optional
  • Salt As per taste
  • Black Pepper As per taste

Instructions

  • Rinse and pat dry the herring, then cut into bite-sized pieces.
  • In a bowl, mix sour cream, vinegar, sugar, and lemon zest until smooth.
  • Stir in the diced red onion and chopped dill.
  • Gently fold in the herring, mixing carefully to avoid breaking the fish.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (preferably overnight) to let flavours meld.
