Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Fresh or Frozen Blackberries
  • 1/2 Cup Red Wine
  • 2 Tbsp Honey or Maple Syrup
  • 1 Tbsp Butter
  • 1 Tbsp Chopped Shallots or Red Onion
  • 1 Tsp Fresh Thyme
  • 1 Tsp Lemon Juice Optional
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper Powder

Instructions

  • Initially, collect and prepare all the ingredients according to the ingredient list.
  • Then, melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the shallots for 2 minutes until it become soft.
  • Then, add the red wine, honey, blackberries (Fresh or Frozen), and thyme into the sautéed aromatics. Stir continuously to mix them well.
  • After that simmer the mixture for about 10 minutes is you use fresh blackberries. Simmer a few minutes longer if you use frozen blackberries.
  • The berries will become soft and break down easily that will help to thicken the sauce.
  • However, using a blender to blend the mixture will assist you to get a smooth sauce. Then, strain the mixture to remove the seeds from the sauce.
  • Again place the sauce into the saucepan, season the sauce by stirring with lemon juice, salt, and black pepper powder, simmer for 2 more minutes.
  • The sauce is ready, remove the saucepan from and pour the sauce in a bowl.
  • Serve the sauce with your favorite pork dish and enjoy 5-star-hotel-like pork dish at home.
