Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Apple Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Ketchup
  • 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1 Clove Garlic Minced
  • 1 Medium Onion Chopped
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Tsp Liquid Smoke Optional
  • 1/2 Tsp Red Pepper Flakes Optional

Instructions

  • First, saute the onion and garlic in olive oil until they get a translucent color.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and mix them well.
  • Simmer the mixture for 15 to 20 minutes until it thickens.
  • Now blend it for a smoother texture.
  • Let the sauce cool, and you can store it in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

Notes

  • If you don’t prefer sweetness, you can reduce the amount of brown sugar in your apple butter grilling sauce.
  • For a spicy kick, increase the amount of red pepper flakes. Also, add some cayenne pepper too.
  • To increase the shelf life of the sauce, store it in a clean, airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • If the sauce becomes too thick after cooling, thin it out with water and apple cider vinegar before using.
