- 1 Cup Apple Butter
- 1/2 Cup Ketchup
- 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Dijon Mustard
- 1 Clove Garlic Minced
- 1 Medium Onion Chopped
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1/2 Tsp Liquid Smoke Optional
- 1/2 Tsp Red Pepper Flakes Optional
First, saute the onion and garlic in olive oil until they get a translucent color.
Add the remaining ingredients and mix them well.
Simmer the mixture for 15 to 20 minutes until it thickens.
Now blend it for a smoother texture.
Let the sauce cool, and you can store it in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
- If you don’t prefer sweetness, you can reduce the amount of brown sugar in your apple butter grilling sauce.
- For a spicy kick, increase the amount of red pepper flakes. Also, add some cayenne pepper too.
- To increase the shelf life of the sauce, store it in a clean, airtight container in the refrigerator.
- If the sauce becomes too thick after cooling, thin it out with water and apple cider vinegar before using.
